About this adventure
A Saturday drop-in program at the Museum of York County's natural history halls about manatees, which are being seen more and more in South Carolina's coastal waters. Visitors learn about the 'mermaid myth' manatees inspired and their slow-motion grazing on underwater pastures, and children make a manatee craft to take home. The program runs from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the museum in Rock Hill, which also has a hands-on Naturalist Center with more than 2,000 specimens to explore.
