The City of Monroe lights its Christmas tree in downtown Monroe on Main Street on Saturday evening, November 21, from 6 to 8 p.m. The city moved the ceremony this year from its usual early-December date so that it falls on the same weekend as the Monroe Christmas Parade, which rolls through downtown the next afternoon (Sunday, November 22 at 2 p.m.). Families can plan a weekend downtown around both events. The city says further details about the lighting program will be released closer to the date on its social media.
