About this adventure
Birkdale Village's holiday kickoff in Huntersville. From 2 to 4 p.m. Activity Row along the Parkway has face painting, glitter tattoos, Santa's Elves and magicians; Merry Maker's Way (2–7 p.m.) has letter-writing to Santa and a holiday Book Nook. Birkdale on Ice opens for the season at 2 p.m. with a skating performance, and local dance studios perform from 2:30. At 4:30 p.m. the annual parade loops Birkdale Commons Parkway with Santa, dancers, first responders and the Hopewell High School Marching Band, hosted by Kiss 95.1. The tree lighting in The Plaza starts promptly at 6 p.m. (not right after the parade), followed by a party band until 7. Parking decks and lots are free; valet is $8.
