Goodman Theatre's long-running stage adaptation of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol, adapted by Tom Creamer and directed by Malkia Stampley, returns to the Albert Theatre from November 13 to December 31, 2026, with Tim Hopper debuting as Scrooge. The production follows Ebenezer Scrooge through the ghostly visits that turn his holiday disdain into delight, with onstage musicians and several young performers in the cast. It suits school-age children and older; the theater does not permit children under 5. Accessible performances include an ASL-interpreted show (Fri Dec 4, 7:30 p.m.), a touch tour and audio-described show (Sat Dec 5, 2 p.m.), open captions (Sun Dec 6, 2 p.m.), Spanish subtitles (Sun Dec 6, 7 p.m.) and a sensory-friendly performance (Sun Dec 27, 2 p.m.). The Goodman also publishes English and Spanish study guides to prepare kids before the show.
