On New Year's Eve, Lincoln Park Zoo runs a family-timed version of ZooLights with an hourly countdown so children can ring in the new year early and still get home before bedtime. Guests walk the light displays, the light tunnel and the Main Mall, with the Ferris wheel, carousel, fire-pit s'mores and hot cocoa available as on other ZooLights nights (rides and food are bought separately). The evening runs 4:30–9 p.m. and is listed for all ages. A ZooLights ticket is required for every guest, including children; the zoo's regular ZooLights pricing is $7–$12 for advance fixed-date tickets and $20 on the day, and the zoo links a dedicated December 31 ticket session.
