The 18th Schaumburg Turkey Trot is a Thanksgiving-Saturday race through Busse Woods on November 28, 2026, starting and finishing at the Ned Brown Meadow, Groves 28–30, in Elk Grove Village. Alongside the chip-timed half marathon (8:00 a.m.) and 5K (8:20 a.m.) there are two children's events: a free Kid's 100-meter Dash for ages 8 and under at 7:45 a.m., where every child gets a finisher ribbon, and an untimed Kid's 5K Fun Run for ages 11 and under that starts with the 5K at 8:20 a.m. and includes a bib, finisher medal and a finish-line donut. An untimed 5K walk option suits families with strollers or grandparents. Most parking is off-site at the 150/200 N. Martingale Rd. garages with shuttle buses from 6:30 a.m., so plan to arrive early. Packets can be picked up at Dick Pond Athletics in Hoffman Estates on November 25 and 27, mailed for a fee, or collected on race morning. The race supports the Fetching Tails Foundation dog rescue.
