About this adventure
Mayor Peter Land and the City of Crown Point open the holiday season downtown with two back-to-back lighting ceremonies on the evening after Thanksgiving. The Tank Lighting comes first, at the intersection of Goldsborough and Main streets, and the Tree Lighting follows half an hour later on the east-side steps of the historic Lake County Courthouse on the courthouse square. The two ceremonies take about an hour and a half together. The next morning Santa flies into Pointe Plaza by sheriff's helicopter for the Santa Parade, and weekend Photos with Santa begin in the courthouse lower level. The city's page lists no tickets, registration or fee.
