On the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, students build ships, UFOs, planes, cars and anything else they imagine from more than 100 pounds of LEGO bricks at the Northbrook Community Center. With LEGO guide Rich Weis, the group builds itself into a six-foot tower of bricks. The party runs 10:30 am to 12:30 pm, and an optional hour-long Extreme Builders post-party follows from 12:30 to 1:30 pm, with extra building time and the group implosion of the tower; post-party kids bring a nut-free lunch and a drink. The fee range listed is $39 to $49, and each part is registered separately.
