About this adventure
On the first Saturday of December the village of Granville lines its streets with live Christmas trees, strings of lights and hundreds of luminaries for the Christmas Candlelight Walking Tour, a tradition the Granville Area Chamber says families have kept for more than 40 years along Broadway. Shops open in the morning and the timed program starts in the afternoon: carolers and musicians, holiday music in village churches, horse-drawn wagon rides, children's activities, Santa at the library, a gingerbread contest at the Robbins Hunter Museum, and theatre and music at Denison University, with museums and businesses hosting their own stops. Families walk from venue to venue at their own pace, so it suits strollers and older kids alike; dress for an evening outdoors. The chamber's plan-your-visit page has parking and shuttle information. Admission to the events is free.
