An instructor-led, one-hour drop-in archery session at Penn Farm in Cedar Hill State Park. Archery coaches walk participants through the "11 steps to Archery Success" and the basics of shooting a Mathews Genesis bow with Easton arrows. The park provides all bows, arrows and instruction. No registration is needed, and people can come and go during the hour. Participants must be at least 12 years old and able to draw back 10 pounds, so this suits older children, teens and their grown-ups rather than younger kids. Bring water and a snack and dress for the weather. The program is free with the $7 per person park entry fee or a Texas State Parks Pass, and children 12 and under enter the park free. The park notes that programs can move, be postponed or be cancelled because of weather.
