The Frosty 5K, presented by Texas Health Hospital Frisco, is a festive fun run for all ages through Frisco Square and downtown Frisco, starting from Simpson Plaza at Frisco City Hall on the first Saturday of December (8–10:30 am). Every participant gets a long-sleeve shirt and a finisher medal, and awards go to the top three in age divisions starting with 9-and-under and 10–14, which makes it a good first race for kids running with a parent. Registration is online only and capped at 1,200 entries, with a $5 late fee on race day and no refunds (weather cancellations convert to virtual participation); $5 from each entry funds Frisco's Play Fund, which helps residents pay for classes and camps. Packet pickup is at the Frisco Athletic Center on December 2–3. Free parking is in the Page St. garage. The run kicks off the city's Merry Main Street holiday celebration, which takes over Simpson Plaza the same afternoon from 3 to 7:30 pm.
