On a Friday night in December, the indoor pool at the Burleson Recreation Center (the BRiCk) becomes a holiday glow party with music, glowing lights, pool floats, games and character photo opportunities. Swimmers are encouraged to bring their own pool float and dress the part with holiday-themed swimsuits, floats and accessories; glow items are handed out while supplies last. All ages are welcome, but the BRiCk's regular pool rules and age and supervision requirements apply, so check those before bringing young children. A designated sensory-friendly quiet room is open throughout, with reduced lighting, comfortable seating, sensory items, fidgets, coloring activities and noise-reducing headphones for anyone who needs a break from the lights and music. The swim runs 7:30 to 9:30 pm; tickets are $5 per person (ages 2 and under free) through the city's online store.
