Flower Mound Rotary Charities and the Town of Flower Mound host the annual Reindeer Run 5K and Grinch Sprint at Bakersfield Park on the first Saturday morning of December, starting at 9 am. The Grinch Sprint is held alongside the 5K. Every participant receives a medal and a T-shirt, and runners are encouraged to come in holiday attire. After the race there is coffee, hot chocolate, pancakes and cookies while supplies last, and Santa Claus and the Grinch are on hand for photos. Awards go to each age group, with cash prizes for the top three male and female finishers overall. All proceeds support the Rotary Club's local and international charity work. Registration is online through the Flower Mound Rotary website, and the price increases on November 1, so sign up early.
