About this adventure

For the third holiday season, Visit Denver puts on free nightly drone shows over the west edge of downtown Denver. From November 20 through December 31, about 600 drones rise at 7 p.m. each night to draw a dozen or more holiday animations in the sky, from Santa and his reindeer to Denver landmarks such as the Mile High Tree and Union Station, and some nights feature special shows themed to Denver's sports teams. Each show lasts about 10 to 15 minutes. The drones are flown by Brightflight Drone Shows, a Denver company, and launch just west of downtown with Metropolitan State University of Denver as host. The closest viewing spot is the Tivoli Quad on Auraria Campus, where families can also visit the Mile High Tree light show and the Denver Christkindlmarket; entry there is free and restrooms are available. Other public vantage points include the Sculpture Park at the Denver Performing Arts Complex. Shows can be canceled for weather, so check the page after 4 p.m. on the day.
