About this adventure
The Detroit Historical Society revives the feel of the old Hudson's department store holidays with a family brunch inside the Detroit Historical Museum. Children get storytime and photos with Santa, the Velvet Carolers sing, and there is family-friendly holiday shopping. Brunch is a fixed menu of chicken and waffles, a Maurice side salad (a Hudson's classic), fresh fruit, a juice bar and a hot chocolate bar with toppings; the kitchen cannot take dietary restrictions or special requests for this event. Ticket holders can also walk through the SantaBear exhibition, a chance for parents and grandparents to show kids the Hudson's SantaBear tradition. Tickets are $100 for general admission and $50 for children ages 3 to 12, bought in advance online. The brunch runs three hours on a Sunday morning in mid-December and suits families with young children who want a dressy, sit-down Santa outing.
