About this adventure
The War Memorial hosts a holiday dance for Grosse Pointe middle schoolers in its lakefront setting during winter break. Students in grades 6 to 8 dance to current music for two hours, and each ticket includes a voucher for a slice of Jet's Pizza (cheese, pepperoni or gluten-free); extra pizza, chips, cookies and treats cost $2 each, and water is free. Rules matter here: the dances are only open to students who live in Grosse Pointe or attend school there, a parent or legal guardian must complete the registration online, there are no door sales, sales end at 2 pm on the day, and students must show a valid school ID at check-in, giving their name at the door instead of a printed ticket. Pre-sale tickets are $22, rising to $25 from December 14; a Monster Mash plus Christmas by the Lake combo is $40. Parents who volunteer as chaperones get a free ticket for their child.
