About this adventure
Livonia Parks and Recreation's Stories, Snacks and Crafts series at Greenmead Historical Park takes on folklore and fables in November. Children hear classic tales such as How Chipmunk Got Its Stripes, Stone Soup and The Little Red Hen, and between stories they do a hands-on activity that brings each tale's theme and characters back to life. The morning ends with a treat to celebrate the storytelling. The program is best for ages 4 to 10, which makes it a fit for preschoolers, kindergartners and younger elementary children who are home on a Tuesday morning (Election Day, when many schools are closed). Every child attending must be registered in advance and come with a guardian. The fee is $12 per child for Livonia residents and $14 for non-residents, paid through the city's online recreation catalog.
