About this adventure
Houston's big volunteer-run airshow returns to Ellington Airport on Halloween weekend, headlined this year by the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds alongside military and civilian performers and the Commemorative Air Force's historic warbirds, including the Tora! Tora! Tora! group. Gates open at 8 am and feature flying starts around 10:30, with ground displays, interactive exhibits and vintage and military aircraft to see up close between acts. Families get unusual value: one adult General Admission ticket includes up to six children 14 and under free. Bring chairs or a blanket and ear protection for young children. Onsite parking is limited by construction, so the free park-and-ride shuttles are recommended, but they cannot carry wagons, large strollers or non-folding chairs. The Family Chalet is an alcohol-free reserved area with food for families.
