Kids' Art Classes (Ages 4-10) at the Indianapolis Art Center

About this adventure

Short multi-week studio classes for 4- to 6-year-olds at the Indianapolis Art Center in Broad Ripple, with all supplies provided. In Clay Exploration (Saturdays Oct. 24–Nov. 14, 9–10:30 am, $88) children smash, pinch and pound clay and use real tools to build pieces from start to finish. Art Exploration (Saturdays Oct. 31–Nov. 21, noon–1:30 pm, $88) samples painting, drawing, collage and sculpture with a new material each week. Cut, Tear & Glue! (Sundays Nov. 1–22, 3:30–4:45 pm, $88) builds fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination through collage with shapes, textures and patterns. Youth tuition assistance is available. Weekend studio classes for children 6 to 10, with all supplies provided. Comics and Cartoons (Saturdays Oct. 24–Nov. 21, 9–10:30 am, $96) teaches kids to invent characters and stories using drawing and mixed-media tips from professional artists. Sculpture Adventures! (Saturdays Oct. 24–Dec. 12, 2:30–4 pm, $167) works in clay, plaster and found objects while introducing form, structure and balance. Other fall classes already under way include Art Sampler, Draw & Paint: Worlds!, Clay Adventures and Miniature Fashion Studio, and new sessions are posted each term.
