About this adventure

The City of Jacksonville's Veterans Day Parade, which the city calls the largest observance of its kind in Florida with more than 2,500 participants, steps off downtown at 11:01 am on Veterans Day. Children along the route see grand marshals, senior military leaders, active-duty and retired units, veteran groups, Junior ROTC detachments, high school marching bands and decorated floats. The 1.32-mile route starts on Water Street in front of the Jacksonville Center for the Performing Arts, turns onto Hogan Street and then runs east along Bay Street to finish at VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena. Viewing along Bay Street between Hogan Street and A. Philip Randolph Boulevard is first come, first served; the city points to Ford on Bay near South Liberty and East Bay as a popular central spot. Families are encouraged to wear red, white and blue and bring flags. Expect road closures downtown from 7 am, so allow extra travel time. Free to attend.
