Santa rides Amtrak's Missouri River Runner on one weekend in December, and Downtown Lee's Summit lists the ride as a holiday outing from its Amtrak station. On Saturday, December 5, Santa is aboard westbound Train #311, which leaves St. Louis at 8:10 AM and reaches Lee's Summit at 1:03 PM before continuing to Kansas City. On Sunday, December 6, he rides eastbound Train #318, which leaves Kansas City at 8:40 AM and stops in Lee's Summit at 9:16 AM on the way to St. Louis. Riders can board or get off at any stop on the route, including Lee's Summit, Independence, Warrensburg, Sedalia, Jefferson City, Hermann, Washington and Kirkwood.
