On the third Friday of each month, a team of scientists from the Children's Mercy Research Institute leads hands-on science exploration for children at Wonderscope, the children's museum in south Kansas City. The scientists present real research topics in an approachable, age-appropriate way, and kids get to try experiments themselves. The program starts at 3 p.m. in the museum's Design Lab. No sign-up is needed — just stop in while supplies last. It is free with museum admission or membership; general admission is $16 for children ages 2 to 15 and for adults. Third Fridays in the window are October 16, November 20 and December 18.
