About this adventure

An overnight campout for Cub Scouts and their adults inside the Kansas City Zoo & Aquarium in Swope Park. After the gates close, scouts explore the zoo after sunset on night hikes, make s'mores and rotate through activity stations about STEM and wildlife conservation, then sleep outdoors on zoo grounds. Families bring their own tent and sleeping bags and must arrive by 6 pm to set up before the program starts; the stay runs until 8 am the next morning. The program runs rain or shine, and if the weather turns bad everyone moves to an indoor location. Space is limited and registration is through the zoo's online form; every camper is charged per person. Best suited to scout dens and packs, or a scout with a parent, who are ready for a night of camping in late fall weather.
