Lenexa Public Market counts down to the new year at noon instead of midnight, so young children can celebrate without staying up late. Kids are invited to come in their comfiest pajamas. The hour includes family board games from Cardboard Corner Cafe, coloring pages, a time capsule activity, giveaways for kids while supplies last, a balloon drop at noon and a sing-along of Auld Lang Syne. The party is free and runs 11 a.m. to noon; families can stay for lunch from the Market's merchants, though the Market closes early at 3 p.m. for the holiday.
