- Winter Magic (Jolt Lighting) with KC Parks
Winter Magic is a drive-through holiday light show in Platte Purchase Park in the Northland, now in its seventh season overall and third year at this site. Families stay in their warm car and follow a route of more than a mile past light displays synchronized to holiday music, with a Christmas pickle scavenger hunt to keep children looking out the windows. The organizer describes it as family friendly for all ages, and one ticket covers the whole car, so it suits families with babies and toddlers who would not manage a long walk in the cold. The 2026-27 pricing calendar lists the show as open every night of the season from November 4, 2026 through January 2, 2027, usually 6 to 8 p.m. on weeknights and 6 to 9 p.m. on Fridays, Saturdays and peak nights. Per-car prices change by date: $20 on value and late-season nights, $25 on early December dates, $30 on high-demand dates such as Thanksgiving weekend, and $40 on peak December Saturdays. Tickets are sold online in advance. A portion of proceeds benefits KC Parks and Children's Mercy.

What was checked & what still needs confirmation
Dates from the KC Parks listing (Nov 4, 2026 – Jan 2, 2027) and the Winter Magic 2026–27 pricing calendar (first priced night Nov 4; last Jan 2). The homepage still shows a ticker 'Closed Dec 1st for Weather', apparently a leftover from last season; nightly hours vary per the calendar. endTime is the weeknight closing time.
