Manhattan Beach Parks and Recreation hosts its Family Halloween Carnival at Manhattan Heights Park on Saturday, October 24, from 1 to 5 p.m. It is the city's afternoon Halloween party for families with young children, held a week before Halloween so kids can wear their costumes early in a park setting rather than on the street after dark. The city's special-events page lists the date, hours and park address; specific booths, games and any ticket prices are not printed there, so families should check with the Parks and Recreation Department (310-802-5448) before going. Volunteers can also sign up through the department. Manhattan Heights Park is in the residential east side of the city on Manhattan Beach Boulevard, with the community center on site.
