About this adventure
OC Parks' Jr. Ranger adventure at William Mason Regional Park in Irvine is a one-hour after-school nature outing where kids earn the park's Jr. Ranger badge. This session looks at what makes an animal invasive and has children watch the behavior of the turtles in Mason's lake. The group meets by the restrooms at Parking Lot C (enter at San Joaquin off University Drive). It is designed for ages 8 to 12, but all ages are welcome, and participants under 18 must come with a parent or guardian. Everyone, including children, must register in advance through the Laguna Canyon Foundation and sign a waiver at the start. Bring plenty of water, closed-toed shoes and sun protection. Parking at Mason Regional Park is $5 per car. Hot weather or wet, muddy trails can lead to cancellation.
