About this adventure
The San Pedro Chamber of Commerce's 46th annual Spirit of the Holidays Parade rolls through downtown San Pedro on a Sunday afternoon in early December. Floats, performers, musicians and school marching bands travel from 13th Street and Pacific Avenue north on Pacific, turn right on 6th Street and finish at 6th and Palos Verdes Street. Announcers along the route introduce each entry, with a kick-off point at 11th and Pacific and the main stage at 6th and Pacific, which is a good place for families who want commentary. The parade runs from 1 to 3 p.m. and is free to watch from the curb; arrive early with chairs or blankets for a front-row spot, and check the parade website's parking and street-closure page before driving in.
