South El Monte's Turkey Trot is a low-cost running event held in the parking lot of South El Monte City Hall on Saturday, November 21, 2026, the weekend before Thanksgiving. Children ages 5 to 8 run the Children's 1K Trot, which starts at 8:30 a.m. The Turkey Dash 5K follows at 9:30 a.m. and has an open division plus a division for runners 18 and under. Each race has a lower price for South El Monte residents.
