- Palm Beach Skate Zone (operated by Specialty Rink Management, LLC)
Palm Beach Skate Zone on Lake Worth Road calls itself Palm Beach County's only three-rink ice facility and runs public skating sessions every week of the year, with a climate-controlled lobby and the Center Ice Kitchen for snacks. Skaters of any age are welcome as long as they fit a youth size 8 skate or larger and have an adult assisting them on the rink at all times. Beginners can rent an Assist Walker ($7) or a Bobby the Seal or Rudolph the Reindeer trainer ($15), and a limited number of free helmets are lent first-come, first-served; a bike or hockey helmet is recommended for beginners. Wear long pants, long socks and a long-sleeved top; gloves are sold at the desk. Parents who are not skating do not pay, though Friday and Saturday night sessions may charge a $19 cover if guardianship cannot be verified, and backpacks are not allowed at those night sessions. Buying online is cheaper and quicker, and the rink asks every skater to fill in the waiver before arriving. Sessions are split into weekday & Sunday night sessions, weekend sessions and, from December, holiday public skating.
