Organizer

Baptist Health IcePlex (Florida Panthers / FTL War Memorial)

Baptist Health IcePlex at FTL War Memorial in Holiday Park has two regulation indoor rinks, one of them dedicated to public use, and runs drop-in public skating sessions in downtown Fort Lauderdale. The rental counter stocks figure and hockey skates from toddler sizes through adult, and a skating aid can be rented for beginners while supplies last. Admission is limited and pre-registration is always required: create a DaySmart account and pick a session from the public skate calendar before you go. Sessions pause for about 15 minutes while the ice is resurfaced. House rules families should know: skaters may not carry children on the ice, there is no chasing or horseplay, ear buds are not allowed, and helmets are encouraged but not provided, so bring one for young children. A limited number of day lockers are available. Outside food is not allowed; there is a grab-and-go counter, an upstairs concession stand and The Federal restaurant. The IcePlex also runs Panthers Skating Academy learn-to-skate classes and an adaptive skating program.
