About this adventure

The Germantown Area Chamber of Commerce's Christmas Festival fills a Saturday in mid-November, well before the December rush. At 1:30 p.m. the Christmas Festival Parade, themed 'A Hawaiian Christmas' this year, steps off at Pilgrim Road and Sylvan Circle and travels Fond du Lac Avenue, Main Street and Park Avenue to Firemen's Park, with marching bands, scouts, dance groups, fire trucks, stilt walkers, Bernie Brewer and the Milwaukee Brewers' Racing Sausages, and Santa. Christmas in the Park follows from 2 to 4:45 p.m. at Firemen's Park: pictures with Santa, costumed characters, kids' ID cards made by the Germantown Police, free hot chocolate, coffee and popcorn, cookies and mini donuts for sale, and a Candy Land Adventure where children collect stamps at booths around the park and turn in a completed map for a chance at LEGO prizes. Music plays at the Christmas tree from 2:30 p.m., and Santa lights the official Firemen's Park tree at 4:45 p.m. A bucket raffle costs $5 for five tickets. Dress for the cold; the parade is outdoors and the park activities are spread out.
