New Richmond's evening holiday celebration combines a lighted nighttime parade down Knowles Avenue, a tree lighting and fireworks. Its sponsor list also names a Santa meet and greet, sleigh rides, holiday music and an appearance by the Grinch. The parade starts at 6 p.m. on W. 5th Street, heads north four blocks to 1st Street, then turns right for several blocks. Floats must be decorated with lights, and candy throwing is not permitted. Free; Thursday, December 3, 4-7 p.m. The chamber says crowds have reached 6,000, so arrive early for a curbside spot.
