About this adventure

The Pocono Environmental Education Center (PEEC) in Dingmans Ferry hosts a family star party timed to the Geminid meteor shower on Saturday, December 12, 2026, from 7:30 to 10 PM. The evening starts indoors with an interactive lesson inside a planetarium, where participants crawl inside the dome for an immersive look at the night sky. Everyone then heads outdoors for a hands-on telescope viewing session of celestial wonders, including the Geminids. Much of the program is spent outside on a December night, so PEEC asks guests to dress for the cold and bring their own seating for the outdoor portion. The cost is $10 per person, and spots are reserved by calling the center or registering online. The program is supported by the PPL Foundation.
