Two days after Thanksgiving, a Westchester County naturalist leads a 90-minute trail walk at Marshlands Conservancy in Rye about wild turkeys. The group searches the preserve for the birds and the signs they leave behind such as tracks and feathers, while learning how turkeys strut, scratch and soar. It suits families with children who can manage an outdoor walk of about an hour and a half (1:00–2:30 pm on Saturday, November 28). Wear boots for muddy trails.
