About this adventure

In Guthrie, the territorial capital, the Oklahoma Territorial Museum and the 1902 Carnegie Library tell the story of Oklahoma Territory through artifacts, photographs and paintings. Statehood ceremonies were held on the library's steps on November 16, 1907. Exhibits follow the Land Run of 1889 into the Unassigned Lands and the homesteaders who followed, from sod houses and dugouts to the merchants and characters of the boom towns, which ties in well with Oklahoma history taught in school. It is a manageable small museum for school-age children and pairs with a walk around historic downtown Guthrie. Museums for All gives free admission for up to six people with EBT, Tribal EBT, WIC, Oklahoma Fosters or BBBS ID.
