About this adventure
The Edmond History Museum's Pioneer Christmas is a drop-off morning camp in the historic 1889 Territorial Schoolhouse, where children learn what Christmas was like for pioneer families in Oklahoma Territory. Through stories, crafts and hands-on activities, campers find out how families prepared for the holiday, decorated their homes, made gifts, played and celebrated before modern conveniences. If the weather is nice the group heads outside for a pioneer game; otherwise children play with traditional pioneer toys inside the schoolhouse. Kids may come in pioneer clothing, though costumes aren't required, and a simple Christmas snack is served; children with severe food allergies should bring their own. The camp is recommended for ages 6 to 13. All three mornings are the same, so register for just one day. Refunds aren't available within 7 days of camp.
