About this adventure

Bristol Riverside Theatre brings back Philip Grecian's stage version of A Christmas Story, the tale of Ralphie Parker's quest for a Red Ryder BB gun, after a nearly sold-out 2023 run. Directed by Amy Kaissar, the play follows Ralphie's family through a comic, warm-hearted 1940s Indiana Christmas: the leg lamp, the bully, the department-store Santa and the famous dinner. It is a straight play rather than a musical, so it suits school-age children who already know the film and like comedy, plus tweens and teens. BRT recommends it for ages 8 and older and leaves the final call to parents. Tickets are sold through the BRT box office (open 10 am to 5 pm, and two hours before each show); the theater lists patron discounts on its website.
