Cotton Fest is Buckeye's street-fair kick-off to the holidays, paying tribute to the town's farming history. Families can browse local artisans and indie crafts for holiday gifts, see a classic car show from 3 to 5 p.m., eat from food trucks, and let kids loose on inflatables and activities. Mariachi, carolers and dance groups perform, there are free giveaways and a look at the history of cotton, and Santa poses for free photos at 6th Street Plaza from 6 to 8 p.m. The city's tree lighting ceremony is at 6 p.m.; from then on the downtown lights and a 33-foot tree with a music-and-light show stay on nightly through January 1.
