The fall edition of the Tempe Festival of the Arts fills Mill Avenue with more than 300 juried artist booths, from ceramics and jewelry to photography and woodwork, plus live music, street performers, food vendors and a live chalk art competition. For families, the draw is the Kids Block with hands-on activities, along with watching chalk artists work on the pavement. Hours are 10 AM to 5 PM Friday and Saturday and 10 AM to 4 PM Sunday. The festival is cash free, so bring a card. Strollers and wagons are common, but crowds peak around midday on Saturday.
