East Valley Children's Theatre stages Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer Jr., presented by arrangement with Music Theatre International, in the Nesbitt-Elliott Playhouse at Mesa Arts Center from December 4 to 13. The story follows Rudolph, who feels he does not belong in Christmastown because of his shiny nose, sets off to find a place that accepts him, meets fellow misfits along the way, and learns that home was where he belonged all along; when a storm threatens to keep Santa's sleigh grounded, the very thing that makes him different saves Christmas. Performance times vary across the run, and the Saturday, December 12 performance at 4:00 pm is ASL interpreted. All-in ticket prices are $24.75, and lap children 2 and under are free. Tickets are sold through the Mesa Arts Center box office (480-644-6500, open Tuesday to Saturday, noon to 5 pm). Parking costs $10 in the south lot or the Sirrine Street Garage.
