Milagro, Portland's Latino arts and culture center, stages A Xmas Cuento Remix, a bilingual remix of A Christmas Carol full of Christmas songs in Spanish and English. Anita Chapa loses her job on Christmas Eve and, with her family about to lose their home, has to ask for help from her estranged Tía Dolores, who gets the Scrooge treatment from a group of opinionated carolers. The show mixes storytelling, music and movement and is about forgiveness, family and tradition, described by the theater as a family feud, a holiday miracle and a whole lot of tamales. Milagro's age recommendation is all ages. Evening shows are at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday or Thursday through Saturday, and Sunday matinees at 2 p.m. are the easiest choice for younger children. Groups of 10 or more can request group pricing by email.
