About this adventure

Milagro's free Día de Muertos altar tour starts in El Zócalo at El Centro Milagro, where each participant receives a garland of silk marigolds (cempasúchil) to wear or wrap around a bicycle. From noon, groups set off on a guided route around Portland's Central Eastside, stopping at the partner businesses hosting altars in the Altares y Muertos Public Art Exhibition, including Nossa Familia Coffee, River City Bicycles, Cumbia Corazón and Point West Credit Union; volunteers from The Street Trust help keep riders safe. Costumes are encouraged and prizes go to the most creative. The tour also makes a short stop at the Blumenauer Bridge Witching Hour. Families who can't join the tour can see the altars during each business's normal hours from October 24 through November 6 (a map is on Milagro's site). Reserving a space is requested; the tour is free or pay-what-you-wish.
