About this adventure

On Saturdays and Sundays from November 28 through December 20, the Downtown Sacramento Partnership closes K Street in Old Sacramento to cars and turns it into a holiday hangout from noon to 4:30 PM. The organizers list comfortable seating, lawn games, pop-up vendors and a Letters to Santa station, which is open longer, from 11 AM to 5 PM, so children can write and drop off their notes to the North Pole. It works well as a daytime stop before the evening Theatre of Lights shows on the same street (Friday through Sunday at 6:30 PM), or as a break during holiday shopping in the historic district. The street is closed from Friday at 4 PM through Sunday night, so use the Old Sacramento garages at the district entrance. Expect an outdoor setting on the waterfront: dress for December weather.
