Maverick Branch Library runs a weekly zoology series for homeschooling families with children ages 7 and older, currently on an imagined journey through the Egyptian desert. Each Thursday session (1:30–2:30 pm) looks at one animal and pairs facts with a build or demonstration: designing and crafting a lizard on October 22, an ear-cooling demonstration on why the fennec fox has big ears on October 29 (bring a food thermometer if you have one), then cows, bees and farm work in November. Presenter is Cari Raley.
