About this adventure
A 60-minute guided clay workshop in the New Children's Museum's Artopia ceramics studio for children 5 and up working side by side with their grown-ups. Instructors show examples and demonstrate a few techniques, then each participant shapes their own ornaments for the tree, the house or as gifts, experimenting with colors, patterns and shapes. No experience is needed. At the end each maker picks a glaze; museum staff glaze and fire the pieces, which are ready to pick up about four weeks later, so these ornaments will be back in time for December. All materials are included; wear clothes that can get messy. Two sessions run that Sunday afternoon and seats are booked in advance through the museum's ticket portal.
