About this adventure

The West Coast's first ice! attraction opens with the inaugural Christmas season at the new Gaylord Pacific Resort on the Chula Vista bayfront. Families walk through a 19,000-square-foot frozen hall where scenes from the Peanuts TV special are hand-carved from more than two million pounds of ice: Charlie Brown directing the school Christmas play, Schroeder at his piano, and Snoopy's red doghouse decorated for the neighborhood lights contest, which children can crawl through. There are five ice slides, two stories tall, including a child-sized slide; children under 4 or under 40 inches may use only the small slide, one rider at a time. The hall is kept at 9°F and everyone is lent a parka, so bring hats, gloves and closed-toe shoes. Most visits take 20 to 40 minutes, though guests may stay as long as they like. Strollers and wagons are not allowed inside. Elsewhere in the resort the season adds more than 3 million lights, carolers, a gingerbread decorating corner, ice tubing and Santa photos, each ticketed separately or in bundled passes.
