The Oakland Magic Circle, which has brought magicians together since 1925 and is the oldest independent magic club west of the Mississippi, presents an illustrated history of the club and of key magical moments in Oakland at the Main Library. Board member Gary Meyer and guests share anecdotes about performers, writers and inventors of magic with Oakland connections, including Harry Houdini and his brother Hardeen, who opened competing shows a few blocks apart in 1915, and club members perform magic. Listed for kids, teens and adults, it suits magic-loving older children.
