About this adventure

Downtown Belleville starts Thanksgiving Day with its 16th annual 5K Race and Turkey Chase around the Public Square, a race the organizers describe as fun and family-friendly and which raises money for the Belleville Hockey Club. Serious runners have something to chase too: the top three men and women overall win a pumpkin pie and an award plate, and the top three in every age group get a medal. The event runs from 8 to 10 a.m., which leaves plenty of time to get home for the turkey, and downtown Belleville's holiday season (the Santa Parade and Christkindlmarkt) opens the very next morning. Registration, the Turkey Chase details and race-day updates are posted on the race's Facebook page.
