About this adventure
Grafton's sixth annual Winter Lights Parade rolls along Water Street in the river town on the Saturday before Christmas. Decorated floats, lit-up UTVs, emergency vehicles and glowing community displays parade past the limestone bluffs on the Mississippi riverfront, a short, bright show that young children can watch from the curb or from a warm car parked along the riverbank. Line-up begins at the Hawg Pit at 4:30 p.m., the parade steps off at 5:30 p.m., and the route ends at The Loading Dock, where the celebration continues with ice skating and holiday activities. Watching is free. Dress for a cold evening by the river and arrive early for parking in the small downtown.
